In this section, we would like to draw your attention to the creations of artists who are fully dedicated to their craft. We do not intend to cover the work of users engaged in algorithmic generation of thousands of copies of the same type of trading cards, which are in great demand in the community interested in speculation and collection, but are an absolutely commercial product.
Our goal is to make you discover the hidden side of NFT. Introduce other creators who are attracted by the possibilities of this technology and the ideas they implement.
Currently, the NFTs market is in its infancy. It is likely that very soon, when the domain starts to show signs of maturity, the frenzy around non-fungible tokens would subside a bit. Only creations with a unique vision and deep ideas implemented by their authors will be sought.
In this edition of “NFT of the day”, we would like to introduce you to the Twitter user under the nickname Jeff Han and his work “VR BøT 003”.
“The metaverse is a place full of bots. It could even be that all around are bots. One cannot say who is a man and who is a bot. Do you feel an affair with the metaverse?”
The lines above are how Jeff Han describes his work. The author addresses the subject of the metaverse. Not one that is a hypothetical set of all probably existing parallel universes. It is a utopian virtual world invented by science fiction lovers, free from the cultural, social, economic or political problems of reality. It is a kind of virtual sanctuary, within which you can be whoever you want.
Living in the metaverse is like living in the real world, but without the disadvantages and limitations inherent in the latter. Even death here is not the same as death in the real world.
However if the space around you is just an envelope of zeros and ones, is it possible to be completely sure that the person in front of you is a real being and not a program? Do the bonds created between people in such a world have any value? And if so, is it possible to feel it?
This is about the value of real human relationships in a false world where absolutely everything may not be what it seems at first glance.
If we consider the creation in terms of performance, one can only well appreciate the choice of an animated antique statue as a protagonist, using gadgets that are a feat of modern technology. It is a kind of model break, appealing to traditional human values and, at the same time, superimposing them in a utopian virtual world in which they could be worthless.
The non-fungible Token of the day became Jeff Han’s “VR BøT 003 ” for its depth of idea, philosophical connotations and brilliant interpretation.
